Mah Jongg for Beginners 2021-01-27T10:00:00Neuroscientists recommend playing Mah Jongg (a complex thinking game) to improve memory. Psychologists deem it's low-cost therapy; players call it fun! A tile-based, 4-player game created for the ruling class during the time of Confucius in China, Mah Jongg has now spread worldwide. The object of the game is to collect winning sets of tiles. The tiles have characters and numbers, and the rules are intriguing. Instructor Melinda Colwell teaches the modernized and westernized version in this 6-week class. NOTE: Each participants will be required to have their own Mah Jongg set (borrow a friend's or buy your own; the Senior Center can also assist in ordering a set for you). Class is limited to 8 players. Sign up online or at the Senior Center.
