While other holidays look to the past, Arbor Day looks to the future! Planting trees is all about the future, and the benefits trees can provide grow with each passing year. Normally, to celebrate Arbor Day, community members would gather at a city park to plant trees. This year, the City is encouraging all residents to celebrate Arbor Day in their own way. The best way, of course, is to plant a tree. Another way to celebrate is to take a walk in a forest. Chanhassen has many trails through our beautiful forested areas. Along the way, you can identify some of the common native trees found in Chanhassen by watching the tree tour video which will be posted on the city’s website. Nature arts and crafts can also be fun for the whole family. Check out the Arbor Day web page for a FREE coloring sheet and other craft ideas.
