9-10 am
Meadow Green Park

Meadow Green Park will still receive new trees this year. They will be planted by a contractor.

Join the City of Chanhassen and local community groups for the annual Arbor Day event. Help plant trees that will provide shade, clean air and beauty for generations to come.
  • Please come prepared with proper shoes and gloves along with a shovel.
  • Event will be held in any weather
  • Refreshments, thank you gifts and free seedlings will be provided to volunteers.

Have some fun when you're out for a walk and play Arbor Day bingo.  Take a look at the beautiful trees in your neighborhood and maybe you'll find some new ones you hadn't noticed before.

Arbor Day Poster Contest

Each year, the city invites local 5th grade students to participate in the Arbor Day Poster Contest. Based on a new annual theme, the posters are submitted by the schools and the winner is chosen by the Environmental Commission and approved by the City Council. Any 5th grader who is a resident of Chanhassen may submit a poster for consideration.

The winner and honorable mentions are presented with their awards at the April 27th City Council meeting.

Posters should exemplify the theme "Trees are Terrific...In Chanhassen! Celebrating 20 years of Arbor Day!" and can be made in marker, crayon, watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil or tempura paint and may not be larger than 11x17. The student's name and contact information should be written on the back of the drawing. The deadline to enter posters is 4:30 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Posters can be dropped off at City Hall.
