2016 Street Improvement Project - Minnewashta Manor Area

Overview


This project includes the reconstruction of Minnewashta Manor neighborhood in the summer of 2017. The streets will be reconstructed to the existing width and concrete curb and gutter is proposed to be installed. The water main under the street and the water services from the water main to the property line will be replaced. Some sanitary sewer repairs will be completed within the reconstruction area. Stormwater management improvements will also be made.

Bids were received and opened on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Acceptance of bids and award of contract is scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2017 at which time the Bid Alternate will be approved.
 

Project Updates

August 10, 2018


Phases I & IIA
After sod work is completed the week of 8/20 in Phase IIB, sod replacement will begin in this phase.

Washta Bay Road (Phase IIB)
Week of August 6 - This week, bituminous driveways, irrigation systems, landscaping and dog fence work will be taking place.  
Week of August 13 - Mailboxes (Monday) will be replaced, landscaping and topsoil/turf restoration will begin. Rain garden construction will begin and will continue into the following week.
Week of August 20 - Sod installation/restoration will continue. 

Residents will also see manhole structures begin to be raised in all phases.

August 1, 2018

Phases I & IIA
Sod repairs/landscaping will remain on hold until temperatures are consistently lower to ensure sod takes root and doesn’t burn out.


Washta Bay Road (Phase IIB)
Grading and street paving will be taking place this week. Next week crews will be backfilling topsoil behind the curb and will be installing bituminous driveways.

Project completion is anticipated for July, 2018.
